A visit from the Friends of Chapel-en-le-Frith Station!
At the end of May, three members of Friends of Chapel en le Frith Station came to Goostrey. It’s good to meet others who also want to improve their local station, and afterwards Sue Murdoch commented ‘We came away with lots of ideas.’ The visitors were impressed by the restoration of our wooden Victorian building. They want to put together a case to renovate their station building. Currently there’s a hole in the roof, water damage and rooms full of items left by a former user. We discovered that Chapel and Goostrey volunteers share an interest in monitoring biodiversity around the railway through GIS and the iNaturalist App, so hopefully we can work on this together.
